If you want action then read these books. The first novel published by this Author was "The Smiles and Tears of Love." It follows the life of an Irish girl, born in the 1870's. She meets and marries a private in the British Army and travels around the Empire with him. Her life disintegrates when he is killed in 1916 at the battle of Arras in the 1st. World War.
If you like Crime/Msytery genre books then read the four Vince Hamilton investigations. He solves cases that take him to Africa, Australaia, Turkey and the UK. The Private Investigator is a retired army Major; read to see if he is up to the massive challenge of operating without the back-up of the Army.
Finally there are two books written from the German perspective about the Second World War. "War Brothers" tells the story of German born twin boys who end up fighting againts each other in the Battle of Britain. The second book, "The Tirpitz Legacy", is based on the sinking by the British of the monster battleship, The Tirpitz, in a Norwegian Fjord in 1944. A German SS Officer rteurns in the 1950's to recover gold that was hidden in the fjord when the ship sank, unknown to him a member of his salvage crew's brother was killed by the Officer when he hid the gold. It proves that war touches men in different ways and revenge is a great motivator.
